“Spring break” is not a European thing but this past week I do find myself taking a break from writing for all sorts of reasons, but the main and most important one is that spring has finally arrived. It has been a long time coming. We’ve had snowfall after snowfall, chilly days on end. Almost overnight though we have gone from wearing our fleeces, hats and gloves to venturing out in out t-shirts, flip-flops and sunscreen (it really is that warm).

I would love to say that my garden has been taking my attention away from my sewing machine but unfortunately that isn’t so. I have one little man who loves to explore – take your eyes off him for a moment and he is making good his escape. So for now my time is spent relatively unproductively pottering around, enjoying the little pops of colur that are finally appearing around the garden, while my boys play outdoors. The gardening can wait for the weekends and for now I am content to enjoy lunch time garden picnics with the boys and afternoon trips to the zoo and park.
