In Spring the theme of the mosaic contents held by Rachel over at Stitched in Color was Sweet Contrary. Now that summer is here there is a new mosaic contest and this time the theme is clashy bright to celebrate the colours of summer.
The idea behind the contest is simple: visit the pages of the sponsor Marmalade Fabrics, choose 12 fabrics that represent the theme clashy bright and use the Mosaic Maker tool to create a mosaic of the chosen fabrics.
As soon as I saw the collections at Mamalade Fabrics I knew I wanted to start my mosaic with fabrics from the Simple Marks Summer line by Malk Dubrawsky. Nothings says summer to me more than this line does. I chose five fabrics from the line and then went on to add more fabrics that had those same bright, and at times almost acidic, colours. This is the mosaic I ended up creating:
